Richardson Imports — Online Vehicle & Equipment Auctions
Business Name
Richardson Imports
1. About This Agreement
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of njautocenter.com (the "Site"), operated by Richardson Imports ("we," "our," "us"). Richardson Imports operates an online marketplace where registered buyers can bid on and purchase vehicles, watercraft, and equipment listed by us or by consigning sellers.
By creating an account, placing a bid, or otherwise using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
2. Eligibility & Account Registration
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to register or bid.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information provided during registration and for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- We may require identity verification and, in some cases, a refundable deposit or valid payment method on file before you are permitted to bid.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information, misuse the platform, or violate these Terms.
3. How Auctions Work
- Listings include a description, available photos, and, where provided, condition reports or vehicle history information. Listings are compiled from information available to us at the time of posting and may include estimates.
- Each auction has a scheduled start and end time, shown in the listing. Bids placed near closing may extend the auction by a short period to prevent last-second sniping, as indicated on the listing page.
- A bid is a binding offer to purchase at the bid amount. Once submitted, bids cannot be withdrawn except at our sole discretion.
- The highest qualifying bid at the close of the auction, provided it meets any applicable reserve price, wins the auction.
- We reserve the right to cancel, pause, extend, or re-list any auction due to listing errors, seller withdrawal, suspected fraudulent bidding, or technical issues.
4. Fees, Payment & Buyer's Premium
- Winning bidders are responsible for the winning bid amount plus any applicable buyer's premium, documentation fee, and taxes, as disclosed on the listing or at checkout.
- Payment is due within the timeframe stated at checkout, using an accepted payment method. Failure to pay within that window may result in cancellation of the sale, forfeiture of any deposit, and suspension of your bidding privileges.
- All sales are final once payment is completed, except as required by applicable law.
5. Vehicle Condition & "As-Is" Sales
Unless a listing expressly states otherwise, all vehicles, watercraft, and equipment are sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including no warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Photos, descriptions, and condition reports are provided as a courtesy and may not capture every defect. Buyers are strongly encouraged to review available documentation and, where possible, inspect an item or arrange a third-party inspection before bidding.
6. Title, Delivery & Pickup
- Title and any applicable transfer documents are released once payment has been received in full and any required paperwork is completed.
- Buyers are responsible for arranging pickup or shipping within the timeframe stated at checkout. Storage fees may apply for items not collected on time.
- We may offer shipping assistance through third-party transport partners; any such service is subject to the transporter's own terms and pricing.
7. Prohibited Conduct
- Placing bids you do not intend to honor, or bidding to artificially inflate the price ("shill bidding")
- Using automated tools, bots, or scripts to bid or scrape the Site
- Circumventing fees, buyer's premiums, or platform transaction requirements
- Impersonating another person or business, or providing false registration information
- Any use of the Site that is unlawful, fraudulent, or infringes the rights of others
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Richardson Imports is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Site or purchase of any item, including but not limited to loss of use, lost profits, or costs of substitute goods. Our total liability for any claim relating to a transaction is limited to the amount paid for that transaction.
9. Disputes & Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or use of the Site will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation and, if unresolved, may be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
